Think 'different'
We get it, no argument, we agree...
"Get more people out of cars and onto public transport"
How? Design a public transport network that
allows people to travel from one place to another,
anywhere in the city, safely, cheaply and as seamless as possible.
The Gold Coast is not the first young city facing the challenges of how to move a growing population to and from wherever they live and need to go.
A socially healthy, well connected, clean and green city must invest in sustainable transport. While the Light Rail appears to offer a smart solution we've discovered in the Jacobs report that no other alternatives have even been put forward for evaluation.
Tomorrow's technology is alread here, and it works!
Times they are a'changin'. When you ask what people want they will tell you. Intelligent Transport Systems Australia promotes the development and deployment of advanced technologies to deliver safer, more efficient and sustainable transport across all public and private modes. Now take a look at what 46% of the population of Australia are ready for and want - Maas.
"What are the alternative?"
Our team are eagerly researching and collecting ideas that have been explored and trialed all around the globe. We are preparing as quickly as possible a list of 'best-in-class' solutions for consideration so when the governments ask "what do you want?" you'll be more informed and able to explain what will get you out of your private car and into public transport.
We invite you to bookmark and revisit this page for updates. As a not-for-profit community committee of volunteers we can't promise when, but we can promise to do our best for you!
Like S.T.A.R. we know the community is asking why Federal, State and Local Council are ignoring the potential of the Gold Coast to lead the way in 'best-in-class' public transport solutions while supporting a $2.5B+ Light Rail white elephant? Together we may stand a chance to convince TMR working with us, not against us will benefit the majority of residents?
Do explore the 'innovation' discoveries contributed by community members who, like S.T.A.R. believe the Gold Coast should be part of the international public transport revolution.
If you are aware of new ideas our governments should be considering by all means email us with your finds.
COULD "FUTURISTIC" SKY PODS SYSTEM RESOLVE UAE COMMUTE CRISIS? Cheaper, faster, can move up to 10,000 passengers an hour.

With the whole world now on notice of the devastating impacts of climate change, China has implemented a huge, clean, green, efficient public transport system that should inspire every city around the globe, including the Gold Coast to sit up and take notice.
